How It Works
Out & About Senior Services offers companionship and support through a simple, flexible process.
Simple 5-step flow
No long-term commitmentPhone consult
Step 1
We start with a brief phone call to talk through needs, availability, and scheduling, and to see if it feels like a good fit.
Plan the first visit
Step 2
If it makes sense to move forward, we schedule a one-hour, in-home first visit.
First visit
Step 3
The first visit is used to get to know the client, understand routines and preferences, and see if working together feels comfortable.
Decide whether to continue
Step 4
After the first visit, there is no obligation to continue services. Next steps are discussed only if everyone is comfortable moving forward.
Ongoing visits
Step 5
If itβs a good fit, future visits can be scheduled on a regular or as-needed basis.
No long-term commitment is required. Visits can be scheduled as needed and adjusted over time.

DetailsOverview
The first visit is a one-hour, in-home visit focused on getting to know the client, building comfort, and confirming whether continuing visits feels like a good fit. It is a real visit, not just a consultation.
During the first visit
- Spend a few minutes getting settled and oriented in the home (where to sit, bathroom access, mobility needs)
- Have a light, natural conversation to get to know the client, including preferences, routines, and personality
- Review basic safety and comfort considerations such as mobility support, pets, stairs, or entry and exit needs
- Talk through what a βgood visitβ looks like for the client and what feels most helpful
- Do one simple, low-pressure activity together, such as conversation, tea or coffee, a short walk, a game, looking through photos, or light tidying together
- Confirm how family communication and updates should be handled, if applicable
At the end of the visit
At the end of the visit, we decide together whether continuing visits feels like a good fit. Some clients choose to schedule another visit right away, while others prefer to take time and follow up later. There is no pressure either way.
